Dennis Sr and his team are a personable crew and very professional. We have a short term rental in a bustling area of Downtown Jersey City. Feedback from guests was that it was noisy at night and early morning before Essex put in noise reducing double pane laminated windows. What a difference! Feedback does not mention noise and guests say that the space is restful. We got similar windows for a second unit. Thank you Team Dennis!

The job proceeded very well overall. Dennis and his team were very professional and thorough. I have an 80-year-old house where no repair/replace/upgrade job ever goes quite as planned and often it's not clear just how extensive the repairs need to be until the works gets started and the old fixtures come out. Dennis and his crew understood that they were working on an old house and adapted very well to the extra work required to finish the job the right way and with superior craftsmanship. The new doors and windows look outstanding and are a big improvement over what I used to have.

Right from the beginning it was a pleasurable experience. Dennis, who is the sales rep , I think is one of the owners, was very easy to talk to and very knowledgeable about his products. Doors are heavy, solid and fit perfectly into the framing. Chose solid color for the exterior and "wood grain" look for the interior. Finishes are beautiful and warrantied. Will no longer need to sand and paint my exterior doors every two years. Perfect installation done by Essex's crew. Researched 5 retailers before making a decision. Essex beat the competition for comparable quality doors. I am very glad I acted on the excellent reviews Essex received on this site from other buyers.

Dennis was quite knowledgeable about doors and helped us select the right one for us. We waited a few weeks longer than the time frame indicated but it was worth the wait. The technician not only widened the doorway expertly but he also moved the light switch and the garage door opener switch. (I must mention that the light switch wasn't working but he fixed it.) It was all done without any mess whatsoever left behind. Where we used to have a draft under this door, there is now none! It is air tight. I highly recommend Essex Door!

We have worked with Dennis a few times now, and have been thoroughly impressed each time. We've now had two custom wood doors and one custom wood window installed. The materials he uses are top notch and his team is highly skilled, but what stands out the most is the exceptional level of service that Dennis provides. We had a minor issue with one of our doorknobs due to a faulty part. Even though it was six months after the installation, Dennis ordered us a replacement part and promptly came by to fix the issue. Ordered the doors in September/October and installed in November. Dennis has many years of experience and is a true professional. Installation was set for week of Thanksgiving and the installer, Frank, was great. Since the house is older I was a bit concerned about the installation but Frank is top notch and was able to install all doors in two days. They look terrific and haven't had any problems. Dennis the owner came to the house for an estimate on a Friday night when we both were home. He went over all the options and also provided cheaper options. I had thought i wanted wooden french doors, which he was happy to quote, however we ended up spending a third of what that would have cost. with an aluminum slider. Dennis was very thorough and took the time when going over the order. Very friendly. The door took at lease six weeks to arrive, which we expected, however they called to move the deliver date back a week. Wasn't a huge issue, however it was getting cold at night and our door was very drafty. As expected they get very busy before the cold weather comes in as everyone is planning ahead. On the day of installation they arrived on time and were very neat and professional. They were concerned about blocking off the room they were working on so the entire house did not lose heat. Very happy with the quality of the door - many compliments. Dennis even showed up himself at the end of the installation to make sure we were happy. You do not see many owners taking the time to do that. I would recommend them and will use again.
